Yes! Dr. Jean offers same-day care to ensure that our patients get back to optimal health as soon as possible after experiencing a dental emergency. We do our best to keep emergency appointments open to be able to provide you with immediate care.
If possible, we request that you give us a call at (954) 669-1313 to let us know that you are coming in for an emergency appointment. This ensures we have time to adjust our schedule and prepare for your visit. However, we also accept walk-ins for dental emergencies. If you come to our office at 386 N Rock Island Road, Margate, FL 33063, we will do our best to treat you as soon as possible.
We generally consider a dental emergency to be any condition that is causing oral pain, bleeding, or discomfort, and that you cannot treat on your own.
One obvious example of a dental emergency is damage due to oral injury. If your tooth is cracked, chipped, loose, or knocked-out, this is a serious emergency. You will need to get immediate care from Dr. Jean in order to ensure the best possible outcome for your oral health.
There are many other, less obvious conditions that also qualify as emergencies. This includes serious toothaches, which could indicate a severely decayed or infected tooth, as well as pulled-out or loose dental work (fillings, crowns, etc.), and oral lacerations.
A dental emergency isn’t always as obvious as a broken tooth or severe pain. It can include anything from a knocked-out tooth or a cracked filling to a loose crown or facial swelling. The key is urgency. If you're experiencing bleeding, pain that doesn't subside, or trauma that affects your mouth’s function, it's time to seek emergency dental care. Infections or abscesses that result in swelling of the face or jaw can also quickly become serious, so they shouldn’t be ignored.
At Lifestyle Dental Care in Margate, our priority is your comfort and well-being. Dr. Philippe Jean takes the time to assess each patient’s unique situation, offering care that’s not just prompt, but also compassionate and personalized. Whether it’s the result of an accident or a sudden flare-up, if something doesn’t feel right, make the call. You’re never bothering us.
Yes, we do. Dental emergencies are never planned, and at Lifestyle Dental Care, we leave room in our schedule specifically for urgent cases. Our team understands that when you're in pain or uncomfortable, waiting days for an appointment isn’t an option. That’s why we proudly offer same-day emergency appointments whenever possible to patients in and around Margate.
We also make it easier to get help quickly. You can call us directly at (954) 669-1313, and our friendly team will help guide you on the next steps. With thoughtfully streamlined processes, including online scheduling and a warm, no-pressure environment, you'll experience what patient-first dentistry truly means.
Time is absolutely critical in this type of dental emergency. If your tooth is knocked out, first locate the tooth and handle it only by the crown (the chewing surface), never the root. Gently rinse it with water. Do not use soap or scrub the tooth. Try to reinsert it into the socket if possible, holding it there with a clean cloth or gauze.
If reinsertion isn't an option, place the tooth in a container of milk or hold it between your cheek and gums to keep it moist. Avoid plain water if possible, as it may damage the tooth root surface. Once you’ve secured the tooth, contact us immediately at (954) 669-1313. Time is absolutely critical, and your tooth must usually be reinserted within 30-60 minutes to save it.
Dr. Philippe Jean and our team are experienced in responding to traumatic dental injuries and will prepare for your arrival with the necessary tools and care. Even if you’re unsure if the tooth can be saved, rapid evaluation and treatment can significantly improve the chances of a successful outcome.
At Lifestyle Dental Care, we believe that compassionate care starts with understanding that emergency dentistry can be overwhelming for many people. That’s why we go out of our way to create a calming, respectful environment where patients always feel informed and supported.
To manage discomfort, we use gentle techniques paired with appropriate local anesthetics to relieve pain quickly. For those experiencing heightened anxiety, Dr. Philippe Jean takes a thoughtful approach. He can work at your pace, explain every step in clear language, and offer options that fit your comfort level.
We also offer sedation options to keep you calm and comfortable throughout emergency visits. Our goal during any emergency appointment is to reduce pain, reassure you, and deliver care that restores your sense of well-being, not just your smile.
