Is It Safe To See The Dentist During Coronavirus?

Pre-Appointment Screenings & Questionnaires

First, we’re following recommendations from the CDC to ask patients about recent symptoms they’ve experienced that may indicate COVID-19 exposure, such as shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, fever, and other such symptoms. Patients who may be experiencing such symptoms will be asked to reschedule their appointments.

In addition, we’ll be asking about potential exposure to people who have had COVID-19, and your recent travel habits. This helps us ensure that we do not treat any patients who may have been exposed to the virus.

Social Distancing At Our Office

We have implemented social distancing measures in our waiting room by reconfiguring our tables and chairs to keep patients at least 6 feet apart. This is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread.

You will be asked to wear a mask or face covering to your appointment at Lifestyle Dental Care, and you will need to wear the mask until your appointment with Dr. Jean begins.

We also have made some changes to how we schedule appointments in order to reduce the number of patients in our office at any given time.

In addition to this, we ask that you do not bring anyone else to your appointment unless you have to supervise a child or require assistance getting into and out of our office.

Enhanced PPE For All Team Members

All of our front office team members are wearing masks and eye protection to protect against the spread of COVID-19. Our dental team members are wearing even more PPE. Depending on the operation, we may wear standard masks and eye protection, or N95 masks and custom face shields. We also have medical gowns, foot protection, and head protection, and other such PPE for additional protection during procedures that may produce a lot of oral aerosols.

Sanitizing & Cleaning Operatories & Common Areas

We have always followed all health & safety requirements for cleaning patient operatories between patients, disposing of used PPE, and reprocessing and sanitizing used dental equipment. This ensures your safety during every appointment at our office, and minimizes the risk of COVID-19 spread.

In addition to this, we are also cleaning common areas in our office more frequently, and are wiping down surfaces like countertops, tables, chairs, doorknobs, and bathrooms with disinfectant to maintain a safe environment for all patients.
